Back | PD Link |
PD Link connects your mobile device with Progressive Downloader on your computer. After you choose a computer in PD Link, you can send download URLs from the mobile device and let Progressive Downloader create the download tasks on the computer.
Progressive Downloader must be installed and running on the computer you want to use, and PD Link must be installed on the mobile device. You can connect PD Link through iCloud, or pair it with Progressive Downloader by entering a PIN code.
If your computer and mobile device are signed in to the same Apple ID / iCloud account, PD Link can find the computer automatically after mobile-device downloads are enabled in Progressive Downloader.
Computers shown in the list were visible during the last week. If your computer does not appear, check that both devices use the same iCloud account, Progressive Downloader is running, and the Add downloads from mobile devices option is enabled on the computer.
PIN pairing lets PD Link connect to Progressive Downloader when the mobile device and computer use different iCloud accounts, or when iCloud is not available. Pair by entering the PIN code shown by Progressive Downloader.
After a computer is selected, the Requests screen becomes available. Paste a URL into PD Link and tap Add URL to send it to the selected computer.
Progressive Downloader receives the request, creates a download task, and reports the request progress back to PD Link. Completed downloads disappear from the Requests screen.
If you remove an active request in PD Link, the corresponding task is removed from Progressive Downloader on the selected computer.
PD Link also works from outside the app. In Safari or another app, open the share sheet and choose PD Link to send the current link to the selected computer.
You can also use PD Link from Shortcuts. Create a shortcut that passes a URL to the PD Link action, and PD Link will send that URL to the computer selected in the app.
Install PD Link on your mobile device before pairing or sending downloads.
